Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
This large group of sticks features examples used by former St. Louis Blues players including goal sticks from Mike Liut and Eddie Johnston. We should note that all sticks were not necessarily used while playing for the Blues. Featured are examples from Liut, Johnston, Unger, Sabourin, Roberto, Babych, Sutter, Lefley, Simpson, the Plager brothers and Pierre Plante. We have Sher-Wood, Wilson, Victoriaville, Northland, KOHO and Titan models, with all sticks retaining their original tape jobs on the blades and shafts, except for the Roberto (remnants remain), Sabourin (remnants remain), Lefley, Simpson, and Sutter models, which have had the blade tape removed. Each stick has the player’s name stamped onto the upper shaft, with the Simpson, Lefley, Unger and Babych sticks having custom-shaved handles. We should also note that the Unger and Plante sticks have ballpoint signatures present, and all sticks shows moderate to heavy use, with wear to the blade and shafts. The Liut Northland goal stick is currently broken in half just above the heel, but the stick could easily be repaired by the winning bidder if they so desire.
