Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
This large group of sticks features examples used by former Montreal Canadiens players including a game-used rookie era Guy Lafleur stick. Featured are examples from Lafleur, Tremblay, Chelios, Nilan, Shutt (3), Lapointe, Cournoyer, Risebrough and Mark Napier. We have Victoriaville, Sher-Wood, KOHO and Canadien models, with all sticks retaining their tape jobs on the blades and shafts, except for the Napier, Lapointe and Shutt (2) examples, that have only remnants remaining on the blades. Each stick features the player’s name stamped on, with some having handwritten numbers added. Heavy use is evident on all sticks, with wear and puck marks present to the blades and shafts.
The Lafleur rookie-era stick is a “special order model”, with half of the blade currently broken off and missing. One of the Shutt sticks, along with the Napier and Risebrough examples have signatures present in ballpoint, with a number of the autographs illegible.
