Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
Part of the second NHL expansion in 1970 along with the Vancouver Canucks, in this lot we have four game-used sticks from individuals who all logged ice time with the Buffalo Sabres. Included are sticks used by Housley, Martin, Sauve and Jim Schoenfeld. We should note that not all of the offered sticks were necessarily used while playing in Buffalo. 1) Phil Housley game-used Victoriaville stick. With the original tape job present on the blade and shaft, “P. Housley” is stamped on the upper shaft along with handwritten “6”. With a custom-shaved handle, the stick shows good game-use with wear to the blade including some cracking. 2) Jim Schoenfeld game-used Canadien stick. The original ribbed tape job remains on the shaft, with the blade tape now absent. “J. Schoenfeld” is stamped on the upper shaft, along with a few pencil signatures present that are illegible. The blade shows cracking along the heel, along with a crack to the middle of the shaft. 3) Rick Martin game-used Victoriaville Pro stick. The stick retains its original tape jobs on the blade and shaft, with “R Martin” and “7” stamped onto the upper shaft. Just light game-use is visible, with wear to the bottom of the taped blade, along with a few puck marks present. 4) Bob Sauve game-used Titan Super Pro stick. Bob’s original tape jobs on the blade and shaft remain, with “R. Sauve” stamped on the upper shaft. The stick shows use with wear to the blade along with cracking and loss along the top edge of the paddle.
