Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
Two dozen good-looking old pucks here are loaded with highlights and several logos of rather short-lived, long-gone teams. An original “Original Six” Red Wings puck with a red team logo will garner interest and is joined by a similar Rangers puck with however a big hunk out of the front edge. A same era (1958-62) Red Wings puck with crazed orange logos commemorates Gordie Howe’s 600th career goal, with a scarce Art Ross-Tyer round “Andover” logo puck labeled as having been used in a Dec. 25, 1957 QHL game at the Quebec Coliseum (Aces vs. Chicoutimi). A desirable first-year California Seals biscuit with rubber/patent no. back, screened Converse jobs of the Oakland Seals (3), K.C. Scouts, Rockies, Barons, Canucks and Islanders and Viceroys of the Flames (2), Barons (2), Rockies, Nordiques (3), Jets, North Stars and Whalers complete, with very few condition issues – these are nice! More details on our website.
Just a small piece of the back logo of the first-described Red Wings Original Six puck with red logo is to be aware of, along with classic “oily” examples of Barons and Rockies Converse pucks. Finally, one of the Barons Viceroys is a “Rubber & Plastics” version.
