Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
An integral component of the late-1950’s Montreal machine that steam-rolled over all Stanley Cup competition, Dickie Moore finished first in team-scoring ahead of expected leaders Jean Beliveau and Maurice Richard in the era he used this CCM stick, 1957-58. With the original tape on the knob and blade minus a few rows, the stick has “Moore” stamped on the upper shaft along with “12”. A pattern-made professional model, the stick also features the proper “Raymond Hardware Ltd” stamp midway up the shaft. Signed along one side in ballpoint by 11, signatures include deceased Hall of Famer’s Beliveau, Harvey, Plante and The Rocket. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany this stick.
Those who have also signed include Provost, Goyette, Marshall, Pronovost, St. Laurent, Talbot and Henri Richard. We should also mention that the stick most likely hails from 1957-58, as Goyette only played 14 games with the Habs in 1956-57. Game-use includes wear to the bottom taped section of the blade, as well as a number of puck marks present on the lower shaft and around the heel. In very solid condition with some age cracks running from the tip of the blade toward the shaft, this stick will augment any Hall of Fame or Habs dynasty collection.
