Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
Pre-war game-used memorabilia from a tilt between two long gone franchises will excite historians and vintage puck enthusiasts, the excitement heightened by the fact that March 15th, 1934 marked the Ottawa Senators’ last home game before moving on to St. Louis and playing as the Eagles the following season. White ink of the era and penned to the side of a coveted Spalding puck reads “New York 3 – Ottawa Senators 2” and a check in the record books confirms the date and score. Game use is evidenced by a small chip on the back edge, a skate slice, a ding in the side and wear to the two logos. A scrape affects the still partially legible front logo while the one on the back is considerably worn. A special piece to hold while contemplating the Senators’ long and storied history, this treasure is unique.
