Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016

The Ivy League is no stranger to athletic pursuits, with Harvard historically being at the forefront of both physical and scholastic achievement. This Harvard wool sweater was originally worn in a collegiate contest. Imposing in its namesake crimson-colour along with beige striping accents, the garment has been appliqued with thick arching felt letters and back number. With just a single affixed tag on the inner lower hem denoting a size 46, the sweater is a true product of its frugal antiquity, with numerous contemporary repairs present throughout. Likely a men’s medium or large, this antique garment demands hobby reverence, as its finite nature suggests very few surviving equals.
