Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
While smaller than the full-length sabres given to season ticket holders of Buffalo’s inaugural NHL season, this 15 ¾” dagger features a gold coloured pommel and cross-guard, with a composite grip. Dual Sabres logos are etched along the blade, with “To Commemorate the Entry of the Buffalo Sabres into the NHL, 1970” along with a facsimile signature of coach Punch Imlach. Produced by Wilkinson of England, their logo is featured along with notation of their Royal appointment, just above the cross-guard. Seldom seen, this presentation dagger remains in gorgeous condition, with just a few tiny blemishes on the blade to mention.
