Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
A Canadian icon, Maple Leafs Gardens was not only the long-time home of the Leafs, but a venue for junior hockey as well as figure skating, wrestling, travelling circuses, and much more. This lot features 21 MLG programs spanning the years 1937-75, and they include examples for Leafs games as well as single copies for the Memorial Cup, the 1951 NHL All-Star Game, boxing and a Whitby Dunlops exhibition against the Russians. Ranging from a few in low grade to excellent for others, a number of the programs have loose or missing center line-up pages, and a few have issues to the covers and spines, as well as a couple missing the odd interior page.
In this collection there are Leafs programs from 1948, 1950 (2), 1952 (3), 1953, 1957, 1958, 1962 (2), 1963, 1965, 1975 (20). The boxing program is from 1937, the Memorial Cup program from 1939, and the Dunlops exhibition program is from 1958. Two of the programs have no line-up pages, and as such, their original intended purpose has been lost.
