First held at the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp, the World Championships have been an individual event since 1930. This lot contains an impressive gathering of memorabilia from the tournament, with over 50 interesting pieces offered. Included are a number of keepsakes including 3 jackets, with one from the 1991 tournament, along with 3 t-shirts with one celebrating Team Canada from ’72. There are 6 different banners, including an impressive example from the 1989 tournament. There’s a pair of bags, as well as a pass from 1985. Next we have 2 commemorative pens in their original boxes, 3 mini-sticks, assorted jewelry, 4 mugs featuring Finland, and 4 commemorative paperweights including an attractive pair from 1989. There is also a mint condition hardcover book featuring the 1991 tournament in Finland, a small mounted plaque with “Team Canada vs USSR March 1986”, a beautiful pin set from 1986 and a large Viking figurine from the 1989 event. Lastly, we have a pair of small pennants from 1986 featuring Team Canada vs the Moscow Selects, and both are loaded with over 40 signatures between them.
