Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
Intriguing and not often offered bronze creation for the 1984 Canada Cup is the one that was presented to Team Canada head equipment manager Barrie Stafford. Appealing international hockey souvenirs, these "Gladstone" sculptures were produced at a high cost prior to the tournament, according to a Team Canada executive. This stylized maple leaf also represents man in motion when viewed from another angle. It displays “Gladstone”, the sculptor’s name, at the bottom and stands atop a black plastic base with "Coupe Canada Cup" on a small metal plaque. The sculpture is very nicely preserved and stands 9” tall, including its 4” x 5” x 2” base. Comes with Barrie Stafford’s signed LOA.
