This interesting group of documents pertaining to the Toronto Maple Leafs includes two standard player contracts, as well as three different letters from the NHL regarding fines for specific players. The contracts are the common multi-page fold-over style examples, with the first made out for Dan Maloney. A four year deal, the contract is dated 1979 and calls for $580,000.00 over the four years. Signed by Punch Imlach as well as Maloney, the signing witness was Johnny Bower and a stamp appears for John Ziegler. The second contract is made out for Robert Manno in 1981, and it calls for a two-year deal at $170,000.00, with a possible $100.00 bonus provided said player finishes on the plus side, and takes part in at least 40 games. This contract has also been signed by Imlach as well as Manno, with a stamp appearing for President Ziegler. The remaining three 7 ¼” x 11” documents all originate from the NHL and they’re in regards to fines that need to be deducted from certain player’s salaries, including a pair for Dan Maloney, and one for Robert Manno. All items and signatures are in excellent condition, with just the usual fold lines and handling wear from associated use.
