This interesting group of vintage documents pertain to the Toronto Maple Leafs, and included is a 1938 telegram from Conn Smythe to Frank Calder, a 1950 loan agreement signed by Hap Day and a 1943 Leafs Agreement signed again by Hap Day. The 6 ½” x 8 ½” telegram is dated Dec. 9 1938 and is in near mint condition, addressed to NHL President Frank Calder from Leafs owner Conn Smythe, it discusses the placing of certain individuals including Gus Marker. Next we have the loan agreement from 1950. Signed by Leafs coach Hap Day, it states that Leafs player Philip Maloney was lent to the Pittsburgh Hockey Club for an unspecified duration. The top corner shows some loss, with expected fold lines and some toning to the sheet’s edges. Lastly, we have an agreement between the Leafs and goaltender Jean (misspelled John) Marois. In near perfect condition, the 8 ½” x 11” sheet has been signed by Hap Day as well as a witness and is dated April 16 1943.
