The 2009 NHL All-Star Game took place at the Bell Centre in Montreal and was played in conjunction with the Canadiens centennial, as the city celebrated 100 years of the Bleu Blanc Rouge. This 2009 Eastern Conference captain’s jersey was worn by Alexei Kovalev during the second period. With CCM size 58+ tagging in collar and additional Reebok patch over the back nameplate, an NHLPA crest also sits on the bottom hem. Date patches for each year Montreal hosted the All-Star game adorn the left sleeve, and a Montreal All-Star patch rests on the right shoulder. Kovalev has added a thin black marker signature to the top of the back “7”, and despite its diminutive size, it presents well.
Light game-wear includes just a tiny board burn on the left sleeve, and there’s also some staining to the back numbers, but mostly to the “2”. A MeiGray patch numbered F02985 has been affixed to the inside hem. Originally sold to benefit the “Hockey Fights Cancer” program, an LOA from MeiGray stating this will be included. Kovalev delighted Montreal fans' with three goals, one in the 1st period, one in the 2nd period and one in shootout! he was named the MVP of the game.
