Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
From his second of three seasons in Ontario, we have Ed Belfour’s photo-matched pads, blocker and glove, the first set he used with the Leafs, along with skates, pants and a stick that was also used while in Toronto. The CCM pads show considerable use, including a ton of black marks. With “Belfour” embroidered on, Ed has also signed one pad in blue ink. The blocker and glove have also been signed, with “Belfour” again embroidered on, and they show plenty of use with numerous puck marks present. An LOA from Ed Belfour will accompany.
The pads, blocker and glove have been photo-matched from a number of marks present to Getty images #53088171 #53088174 (Oct. 20th 2002) #1597888 (Oct. 21st 2002) #1645738 (Oct. 26th 2002) #1623005 (Oct. 31st 2002) #1661633 (Nov. 12th 2002). The Christian model stick has the original blue tape on the blade and shaft, with added tape on the handle just above the paddle. “Belfour” appears in factory graphics, with an additional stamping on the underside. The stick shows decent use, with a large amount of red goal post paint transfer to the shaft. Ed has signed the paddle in silver sharpie, and the signature projects well. The CCM pants are in very good condition, with embroidered NHL and Maple Leafs patches, along with the original tie string. The skates are made by Graf, and are Goaler Pro models. They remain in good condition, with no blades currently, and a ton of puck marks and red goal post paint transfer throughout. Also included is a small batting-style glove that was worn by Belfour under the trapper.
