Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
With the scoring prowess of both Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito, the Boston Bruins in 1970 were able to handily defeat the St. Louis Blues in four straight games. This matted and framed Bruins jersey celebrates that victory with “Stanley Cup” nameplate and “70” sleeve and back numbers. A plaque below lists all 16 signers including Orr, Esposito, Bucyk and Cheevers, while a photo above features Orr’s famous overtime goal. Framed to dimensions of 41” x 43”, a hologram numbered 51519 from GNR has been affixed along with a second hologram from AJ Sportsworld, and matching COA’s from both companies will come with this large beautiful display piece.
In gorgeous overall condition, the remaining Bruins that have also signed in black marker on the back numbers of this 1970 tribute jersey are Sanderson, Cashman, Hodge, Johnston, Awrey, Marcotte, Stanfield, Carleton, Lorentz, Sinden and Rick and Dallas Smith.
