Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
For the paltry sum of $4.00, some lucky fan witnessed history as they were able to see Wayne Gretzky compete in his first NHL game. Wayne himself has reminisced about the game stating “My first NHL game, in Chicago, Oct. 10, 1979, was my fifth most memorable game”. This encapsulated ticket stub from The Great One’s first game has been labeled “Authentic” by the good people at PSA. With game details on the slip that reads “1979 Chicago Black Hawks, Black Hawks – 4, Oilers – 2 Oct. 10 Wayne Gretzky 1st NHL Game”. Wayne recorded his very first of 2,857 career points in the game. The ticket stub itself appears to be in good condition with decent corners and a few creases, but these do nothing to detract from its excellent appearance and historic importance.
