Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015

Ryan Malone’s time with Pittsburgh was special as he was the first Pittsburgh born and trained player to ever play for the Pens, and he along with his father are only the second father/son duo in NHL history to score hat tricks for the same NHL club. This Pittsburgh Penguins jersey was game-worn by Malone in 2003-04. With size 58 tagging in the collar and CCM crest on the back neckline, there's also an additional NHL crest on the back bottom hem. Fashioned in full tackle twill, the jersey shows good game-use with a number of large black marks throughout, especially around the team crest, as well as board burns on both elbows with resulting holes on the right sleeve. The fight strap is secure and it has an added piece of tape that states “2004 v NYI”. This jersey has also been photo-matched to a pair of Getty images from October and November of 2003.
The photo-matches for this Ryan Malone game-worn Pittsburgh Penguins jersey are as follows;
1 – Getty image #2726342 from October 30th 2003 has been photo-matched to the black marks below the 12 on the left sleeve.
2 – Getty image #2864792 from November 14th 2003 has been photo-matched to the black marks below the 12 on the left sleeve, and to the unrepaired hole above the 2 on the right sleeve, as well as to the black mark at the end of the hockey stick in the team crest.
