Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
The longest serving captain in Motown hockey history, Steve Yzerman actually holds the record throughout North American sport, as no one has ever worn the uppercase C longer than Stevie Y. This lot includes skates, pants and gloves that were game-worn by Yzerman in the 1990’s. A single skate as well as a single glove from the pairs offered have been signed by Yzerman, and they both include holograms from Hockeytown Authentics.
The breakdown for game-worn Steve Yzerman items in this lot is as follows;
1 – Easton Air game-worn skates from circa late-1990s. In excellent condition, "19" has been handwritten under both skates, and they feature reinforced stitching and Tuuk blades. Yzerman has signed the left skate on the upper blade section in black marker, and a Hockeytown Authentics hologram has been placed inside the boot of the right skate.
2 – Easton Air game-worn gloves from circa late-1990s. In excellent condition, both palms are intact and they show good game-use with a number of small black marks throughout, as well as wear to the fingers on the right glove. The right glove has handwritten “2” above the palm, while the left hand has a handwritten “1” in the same spot. Yzerman has signed the left glove over the Easton logo on the wrist protector in black marker, and the signature is flawless. A hologram from Hockeytown Authentics has been placed onto the cuff of the right glove.
3 – Tackla pants game-worn in the mid-1990s. With a size 50 tag under the padding and NHL crest on the left leg as well as handwritten “19” on the inner band, great game-use is apparent with black marks throughout, and wear to the inner liner which includes a few small holes.
