This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
The fourth stop during his seventeen-year NHL career, Ed Belfour’s time in Toronto was important, with him setting a franchise record 37 wins in 2002-03. Ed also surpassed the great Terry Sawchuk for all-time wins while with the Maple Leafs. This large group of lumber totals five sticks used by The Eagle while in Ontario. We have three Sher-Wood examples along with a pair from CCM, with each stick retaining their original tape jobs on the blades and gauze-style tape on the shafts. Four of the offered sticks also feature additional gauze-style tape on the handles just above the paddles, and each stick has been signed across the blade in marker, with nice and large signatures exhibited. An LOA from Ed Belfour will accompany this lot.
The CCM examples are stamped “Ed Belfour” on the upper shafts, while the Sher-Wood models feature just “Belfour”. Great game-use is exhibited on each, with a pair of the Sher-Wood sticks seeing heavy use, with a ton of puck and stick marks present on the blades and paddles. There is also red goal post paint transfer visible on four of the sticks. A collection unto themselves, this group of game-used sticks from a prominent Hall of Famer are sure to please.
