Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
A finalist for the Hart Memorial Trophy during his rookie season in 1990-91 after winning the Vezina and William Jennings trophies, Ed Belfour spent almost a decade with Chicago, and was a three-time All-Star with the Black Hawks. We have a mask worn by the HOFer during his time in The Windy City in the mid-1990s. A Warwick model in solid black and featuring Ed’s wonderfully executed trademark eagles gracing each side with his customary “Make-a-Wish Foundation” design over the back plate with “B1”, Warwick company stickers grace the interior along with handwritten information including “Custom made by Gary Warwick for Ed Belfour”, with some of the inscription worn away. Exhibiting use with marks and scratches present along with minor soiling to the mouth guard and sweat staining to the interior padding, game action photos from the 1994-95 season show Belfour wearing a red mask, and game action photos from the 1995-96 and 1996-97 seasons also show Belfour wearing a red mask, with a few photos of him wearing a black mask, but of a different design from the offered specimen, so the mask was worn by Belfour in some capacity, most likely in practices. A Warwick carry/storage bag will accompany, along with a signed LOA from Ed Belfour.
