Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
One-of-a-kind is Ed Belfour’s special shimmering silver Dallas Stars game-worn mask from the inaugural game at the American Airlines Center on October 5, 2001. The HOF goalie wore this special reflective mirrored chrome version of his famous eagle mask on the occasion of the Stars’ first game in their brand-new arena, a 4-1 win against the Nashville Predators. This awesome mask features Belfour’s trademark eagles gracing both sides, with his customary “Make-a-Wish Foundation” design over the chin. The back head-piece has custom graphics showcasing the American Airlines Center’s exterior. The “9-6-01” date notation is handwritten in silver paint pen inside the chin. Comes with its carry bag and Ed Belfour’s signed LOA.
The Bishop Custom Design sticker and handwritten notation inside the right ear are covered by black tape, as is the Warwick lettering inside the left ear. Dual-color strapping coincides with the placement of the custom graphics. The mask’s interior padding is present including added velcro for the cloth forehead accessory, which is not included.
