Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
Presented by Wayne Gretzky himself at an initial Team Canada meeting in Salt lake City just before the 2002 games, Wayne wanted everyone to have a special good luck charm, one he hoped would help the team ultimately reach everyone’s common goal of bringing the Olympic ice hockey championship back to Canada for the first time in 50 years. The offered coin is that very charm. Gold-coloured and just 1” in diameter with its historical significance much larger, the keepsake features “Commit To Gold” and “Canada” on the front side, while the reverse contains the Team Canada logo. In beautiful condition with some light wear around the rim, the Intergold produced coin will be accompanied by its original box along with an LOA from Ed Belfour.
