Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
Led by Julius Irving and Darryll Dawkins, the 1979-80 Philadelphia 76ers finished the regular season at an impressive 59-23, and then went through the Bullets, Hawks and finally the Celtics to become Eastern Conference Champions. This dynamic ECC trophy was presented to Louis Scheinfeld, the Vice-President of the Philadelphia Flyers and later president of the Philadelphia Spectrum. At 17”, the gold coloured trophy sits mounted on a wooden 7 ½” x 7 ½” x 5” base with attached plaque that states “Louis Scheinfeld 1979-1980 NBA Eastern Conference Champions”, with matching NBA and 76ers logos. A sticker from Ampros Trophies in Philly remains affixed to the bottom of the base. In excellent condition, there is some tarnishing to a large section of the backside of the trophy, but this does nothing to diminish its display value. An LOA from Louis Scheinfeld will accompany.
