Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
Oilers fans will always have a special place in their hearts for 1990 Conn Smythe winner Bill Ranford. The All-Star goalie’s playoff heroics helped Edmonton claim the Stanley Cup for the fifth time in seven seasons and his mid-1990s Oilers game-issued jersey and stick will make for fine additions to a suitable shrine. Circa 1995-96 Ranford game-issued jersey and his game-issued Sher-Wood stick are both originally from the Newport Sports Museum, which received them as gifts from longtime Oilers owner Peter Pocklington. Maska and size 54 flag tags sit in the back of the neck of the jersey, a circa 1995-96 game-issued No. 30 from Bill’s last season in Edmonton, when he was traded midway through to the Bruins, which comes with an LOA.
“Ranford 30” is stamped on the shaft of Bill’s Sher-Wood game-issued stick, which has a tape job on the knob and his dedicated black marker signature across the blade that reads, “To Mike, Your friend, Bill Ranford”.
