2002 was another banner year for Martin Brodeur, winning an Olympic gold medal in Salt Lake City, he finished up the NHL regular season with a 2.02 goals against average and a .906 save percentage. This CCM blocker was game-worn by Brodeur in the 2001-02 season, and it’s been photo-matched! In Devils colours, “Brodeur” has been embroidered onto the blockers side, with Heaton and Made in Canada logos over the thumb protector. A ton of use is immediately apparent with numerous black puck marks scattered across the blockers face, edges and even backside. A piece of tape has been added to the thumb protector strap to keep it at its adjustable chosen size. Marty has signed his blocker on the inside edge just above the thumb section in black marker, and the signature with added number is perfect. This game-worn blocker has been photo-matched to a pair of Getty images from 2002 that perfectly match various marks present. Adding extremely well-used equipment to your collection from arguably the best goalie that’s ever lived should be a no-brainer.
This Martin Brodeur game-worn blocker has been photo-matched to two different Getty images from 2002. First, a January 1st 2002 Getty image number 53122194 can be positively matched to a few marks around the CCM logo on the blockers face. Second, a January 15th 2002 Getty image number 72504328 can be positively matched to marks seen around the blockers edges.
