Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
This amazing and massive item is the actual goal and net from Detroit’s Joe Louis Arena that Luc Robitaille scored his 611th goal into, breaking Bobby Hull’s all-time NHL record for goals by a left winger! Robitaille overtook the Golden Jet on January 19, 2002 when he tipped home Kirk Maltby’s point shot for his record-breaking goal in a 3-1 win over Washington. Hull’s son Brett, Robitaille’s teammate with the Red Wings, notched his 98th game-winning goal in the same game, tying him with his father for third on the all-time list. Robitaille placed a black marker autograph (which has faded) on the crossbar of this historic NHL goal, which remains intact with its netting and padding in place. Please contact us about shipping as special arrangements will be necessary for this extremely heavy item. This one-of-a-kind piece is originally from Robitaille’s personal collection and will come with his signed LOA.
