Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
The world’s biggest outdoor hockey game, the Winter Classic was first played in 2008 in Orchard Park NY with the Pittsburgh Penguins taking on the Buffalo Sabres. This extremely large official banner from the 2011 Winter Classic measures out at 47 ½” x 70”. That’s nearly 4 feet by 6 feet! Two sided, images of Sidney Crosby dominate both sides with the clever slogan “Let’s Take This Outside”. Details are listed such as the date and the teams taking part, which were the Pittsburgh Penguins (of course!) and the Washington Capitals. With just normal wear commensurate with its former use, each end has its original wooden rods. Sure to elicit conversation, this piece will require a large wall! A COA from the NHL will accompany.
