Sensational wool find is the late, great Jean Beliveau’s mid-to-late-1960s Montreal Canadiens captain’s game jersey. This tie-neck treasure made for Big Jean with all the correct specifications of a Beliveau gamer displays the legendary Habs captain’s “C” sewn on the left breast, his retired and revered No. “4” sewn on the back and both sleeves, all in blue and red double twill, and the iconic “CH” crest sewn on the front in red, white and blue triple twill. With its original “Dry clean with care Tease Knitting Co. Ltd.” tag sits inside the hem, this wondrous wool dates from the Canadiens’ Forgotten Dynasty era of the mid-to-late 1960s. The Habs won the Stanley Cup four times in five seasons during that era, all with team captain Beliveau, the first winner of the Conn Smythe Trophy in 1965. Though it was originally sold through another auction house a decade or so ago as a Beliveau game-worn jersey, due to the fact that it shows very minor wear, if any at all, we can't say without a doubt that Beliveau ever wore this jersey in a game. That said, this remains a unique opportunity to acquire a vintage team jersey made for the one and only Jean Beliveau. Comes with an LOA.
