Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
Like many hockey observers, our consignor “had a thing” for Wayne Gretzky and went about collecting cards and collectibles featuring The Great One. Looks like he got started in the boom years, with mostly the 1990s and up featured in two big binders. A 1979-80 O-Pee-Chee rookie was secured along the way and is VG-EX in our eyes with a slight diamond cut. A Neilson’s Gretzky set in an exception to the aforementioned, with then pages and pages of regular cards and inserts. We don’t spot many higher end/jersey/autograph cards, but three jersey cards quickly total $150 in book value, with inserts adding up to an incalculable lofty amount. Oversized cards, including a set of (24) 1980-81 OPC “giants” and two boxed retirement sets, an early pinback button, a dozen publications, a Hall of Fame medallion, two photo pucks, pogs and other goodies will have you busy for a...great time.
