Jacques return to F1 in 2005 was a struggle for both he and teammate Felipe Massa as the Sauber Petronas team battled to be competitive. Jacques best finish was 4th in the San Marino Grand Prix and he finished the season 14th in the Championship standings. This helmet was worn during two Grand Prix weekends. It was first used during the Monaco GP, May 20-22 at the Circuit de Monaco in Monte Carlo where Jacques started 9th and finished 11th. The helmet has then been photo-matched to Jacques sitting in the car during the European GP held at the Nurburgring in Germany on the May 27-29 race weekend where he started 15th and finished 13th.
This Bell Racestar HP3 helmet, painted by Bell Racing Europe in Jacques traditional design has been tagged 2005/05 by the painter and has the European and Monaco flags attached on the back by Bell staff to signify the races where the helmet was used. The race radio has been removed but the HANS clips remain as well as the signed visor which still has four unused tear-off affixed from the European race weekend. The helmet shows nice race wear inside and out and would make an outstanding centerpiece to any racing collection. Comes with a Bell carrying bag. This item is from Jacques Villeneuve’s personal collection and will come with his signed LOA.
