This custom Bell HP-3 helmet, tagged 2006/02, was worn by Jacques Villeneuve for the first three races of the 2006 F1 Championship season while driving the BMW Sauber F1 Team’s F1.06 chassis and is photo-matched to two of those races. The helmet can first be photo-matched at the Bahrain GP where Jacques qualified 11th and finished 17th. The helmet is then used during the Malaysian GP where he starts 19th and finishes 7th. The helmet makes one last appearance where it is photo-matched to the 2006 Australian GP at the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit in Melbourne. Jacques starts the race 9th and finishes 6th, his best finish of the season.
The helmet has been custom-painted by Bell SPORTS Europe in Jacques' traditional paint job and has had all the sponsors logo’s added to the helmet. The helmet still has the full radio attached as well the HANS clips remains on the helmet. Bell has also added an air vent on the forehead as well as protective tape has been applied to the back. The flags of the three countries the helmet was worn in have also been added to the lower back by the Bell track services people.
This item is from Jacques Villeneuve’s personal collection and will come with his signed LOA.
