Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
The first Swiss-born player to see action in the NHL, Pauli Jaks was selected 108th overall in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft by LA, where he ended up playing only one game. This lot includes Jaks’ game-worn goalie mask and game-used stick. According to our consignor, Jaks wore this mask in the 1998-99 season for the HC Ambri-Piotta, as well as when his team won the IIHF Continental Cup in 1999. Also according to our consignor, the Sher-Wood goal stick, which has been signed by Jaks, was used in a January 29th 1995 LNB game vs the Lausanne Hockey Club.
The all-original goalie mask worn by Jaks is in excellent condition. All of the interior padding as well as strapping is in place, and an added notation states the year “98”. “HC” and “AP” is painted on the forehead, with “P.J.” and “33” on the back headpiece.
The Sher-Wood 950 S.O.P. model stick has the original tape on the blade and shaft, with “Jaks” stamped onto the upper shaft. Jaks has also placed a signature onto the blade, and it’s faded over time.
