Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
Interesting pair available here with a cheque from the Capilano Baseball Club (from Vancouver) made out to the Bank of Montreal, and a circa 1954 game-used Danny Holden H&B bat. The cheque, dated July 18th 1952, and signed by Canadian Baseball Hall of Famer Bob Brown (known as Mr. Baseball) is in very good condition, with typical cancellation punched-holes and stamp. Two 3 cent Canadian stamps have been adhered to the bottom section of the cheque to the left of the signatures. Bob Brown (1876-1962) was a renowned athlete who had over 60 years of involvement in baseball, and he had even played football for Notre Dame in the 1890’s. The bat that accompanies the cheque is a circa 1954 Hillerich & Bradsby Danny Holden 125 signature model. 34” in length, with model S46 stamped onto the knob, the bat is in good condition with just general wear from use, and some deadwood on the back section of the barrel.
