Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
Baseball has always had a good relationship with cinema, as many memorable movies have been made focusing on America’s pastime. This group of lobby cards feature such films and include a title card for “Safe at Home” from 1962. With Mantle and Maris, it’s 11” x 14” and in good condition, and there is some staining and discoloration to the thin paper stock. Second, we have a Mexican title card for “The Jackie Robinson Story”. It measures at 12 ½“x 16 ½” and it is in very good condition, with just a few minor corner creases/dings. The third lobby card, which happens to be just slightly larger than the Robinson card, is for the 1952 Mexican comedy “El Beisbolista Fennomeno” (The Baseball Phenomenon). It too is in good condition, with just some minor corner and discoloration issues. Lastly, we have a postcard sized Spanish language handbill for “Pride of The Yankees” with Gary Cooper as Lou Gehrig, and it is in very good condition.
