Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
The 1998 World Championships were held in Switzerland, and it was the first time that the format expanded to 16 teams divided into groups of four, with the two top teams in each qualifying for the next round. The Swedes were the tournaments eventual winners. This Team Canada Bauer sweater, not officially game-worn in the tournament but well-worn by someone, has a total of 19 signatures. Highlights include Cory Cross, Nelson Emerson, Martin Gelinas, Jeff Hackett, Ed Jovanovski, Trevor Linden and Keith Primeau. All autographs have been placed in black marker, and all project well against the garment’s white background. A number of stains litter the front, mostly to the right of the team crest, and a section of wear and board burn holes are located on the right side beneath the armpit/breast area. An additional small hole can be found on the back just beneath the right shoulder.
