The long-time captain of the Soviet National Team, Viacheslav Fetisov has competed in three Winter Olympics, three World Junior Championships and an astounding eleven World Championships. This Russian National Team CCCP jersey was worn by Fetisov circa 1988-89. Images from an October 1989 program for a two game exhibition series between the Czechs and CCCP shows images of Russian National team players wearing that type of jersey (images would be from earlier and most likely from the 1988-89 season) and that according to research they changed to a different style of jersey for the 1989-90 season. With "Kisapukuoy" and size "L 54-56" tagging in the collar, there’s also an additional “Made in Finland” tag. With screened-on name on nameplate (in English) as well as screened-on numbers and CCCP logo, the jersey is mesh with durene sleeve stripes and lower band. Viacheslav has augmented the jersey with a nice marker tag right over the CCCP logo on front. Please refer to the Classic Auctions website for a complete breakdown of this garment's condition.
Game-wear includes a few board burns on both sleeves around the elbow section including a small resulting hole on the left elbow, as well as a few red marks near the shoulder of the right sleeve. There is also a small stain on the left sleeve beneath the elbow. This garment has had its captain’s “K” removed, with traces of the outline easily noticeable.
