Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
Five depictions of the man who would come to be know as “Mr. Hockey” are offered here, with Gordie Howe’s classic 1954-55 Topps card leading the chronological order. A decent low grade example is this one, with the crease-free card affected by scuffs on Gordie’s face, nearby a discolored upper left corner. Paper loss and glue/paper residue from the card once having been pasted help send it to Poor, but again, a better-looking-than-usual Poor with no unsightly creases. Multiple creases are to report in Howe’s ’57-58 Topps card #42 (G), while a ’60-61 Parkhurst #20 card is also G. Better at VG+ is a crease-free #20 card from ’61-62, with a coin-rubbed back, while completing the group is an actual photo of Gordie, his All-Star card #131 from ’67-68 at F-G due in part to subtle minor back damage.
