This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
The Whitby Dunlops restored Canadian hockey pride on the international stage in 1958 by representing their country and winning the gold medal at the IIHF world championship in Oslo, Norway. Offered are a Whitby Dunlops 1958 World Champions plaque from the team’s Ontario hometown and a framed team photo of the 1957 Allan Cup champion Dunlops. The solid wood plaque measures 19” x 12” with “Presented by Town of Whitby” across the top of the coat of arms and “World Champions Olso Norway 1958” below the gray and orange felt at the bottom of the crest. “Whitby Dunlops” reads the top of the plaque at the bottom that lists the names of all members of the team below it. Bob Attersley has signed the back of the frame that houses the huge Dunlops team photo.
There are a few scuffs to the wood on the lower right side of the plaque and on the bottom edge, as well as some handwriting on the back of the wood plaque.
Attersley dedicated his black marker autograph on the back of the frame.
