Splendid miniature Prince of Wales Trophy was presented to Clark Gillies for having helped the New York Islanders to the Wales Conference playoff title in the spring of 1983 . After failing to reach the 100-point plateau for only the second time in eight seasons, the Islanders came through come playoff time, beating the Bruins in six games in the conference finals, prior to their Stanley Cup triumph over Gretzky and the Oilers. Four silver-plated hockey sticks rise up from the base here to support a cup with removable lid, giving the award a total height of 13". Clark Gillies’ name, along with that of the trophy, is engraved on a metal plaque applied to one side of the 2-inch high wooden base, while engraving on the opposite side's plaque reads "NHL Champions – New York Islanders 1982-83." Autographed on the green felt underneath the slightly worn wooden base, the trophy is in superb condition with some wear showing on the wood base and is originally from Gillies' personal collection.
