Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
Danny Lewicki remains the only hockey player ever to win the Allan Cup, Memorial Cup and Stanley Cup while still a junior. Lewicki had just turned 20 when he won the Stanley Cup with the 1950-51 Toronto Maple Leafs. By that time he had already won the Memorial Cup with Port Arthur in 1948, and the Allan Cup in 1950 with the Toronto Marlboros. Offered are three 1949-50 Marlboros items originally from Lewicki’s personal collection, including his OHA senior “A” champions medal, his CAHA Allan Cup champions medal, and his CCM ‘49-50 Allan Cup Winners skate charm. Both medals come with their red, white and blue ribbons.
The OHA medal has “Toronto Marlboros Senior “A” Champions 1950 Dan Lewicki” engraved on the back, with “Trophy Craft Gold Filled” stamped in small letters at the bottom. It measures about 1 3/8” x 1”.
The Allan Cup CAHA medal has “Toronto Marlboros 1950 Dan Lewicki” engraved on the back, with “Trophy Craft Gold Filled” stamped in small letters at the bottom. It measures about 1 3/4" x 1 1/4" at its widest and longest points.
“CCM” and “49-50” appears in blue on one side of the heel of the skate charm, which has a small loop broken and missing on top. “Allan Cup Winners” appears in blue on the other side of the heel.
