Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
A wonderful addition and complement to a pre-war hockey card shrine and wicked cool to peruse is this 11-1/2” by 15” display featuring two dozen “Ice Kings” that were originally part of a full uncut sheet. There’s obvious staining/damage in the first two vertical rows, with vertical creasing in the last row affecting cards of Hall-of-Famers Bun Cook and Sid Howe. Cards of HOFers Tiny Thompson and Cooney Weiland are among those which display the best, while brothers Wally and Hec Kilrea both appear, along with goalies John Ross Roach, Lorne Chabot and Bill Beveridge. The top, left and bottom edges have been cut unevenly, with lighter creases and staining across the bottom row also to be aware of. The back was/is fully printed, with all cards being the bilingual versions. Fantastique!
