Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
Number five on the list of the highest scoring Russians in NHL history, Ilya Kovalchuk has represented Russia in a number of tournaments including the World Juniors, World Championship, World Cup and Winter Olympics. This Team Russia jersey was game-worn by Kovalchuk while playing with the Russian National Team in 2002-03. With Russian Lutch tagging as well as size 54 fly tag on the collar, there’s an additional Lutch patch that’s affixed to the back bottom hem, and a “Made in Russia” tag on the inside seam. Not much game-use is visible aside from a few stray black marks, with two on each sleeve. There is also the slightest bit of yellow staining around the left sleeve’s cuff. The team logos, numbers and name on nameplate have been screened on, and with no condition problems to note, this garment displays beautifully. An LOA will accompany this game-worn jersey.
