The late Johnny Wilson capped his NHL rookie season with a Prince of Wales Trophy win with the 1951-52 Detroit Red Wings, who went on to win the Stanley Cup. Wilson, who had four goals and five assists in 28 games with the Red Wings, was given this silver plated tray to commemorate Detroit’s first place finish. “Detroit Hockey Club Inc. Champions NHL 1951-1952 John Wilson” is engraved in the middle of the tray, which measures 12 1/4" in diameter and stands just under 1” tall. "Sheffield Reproduction" is stamped on the bottom along with various hallmarks. Very nicely preserved with some surface scratches. Comes with an LOA from the Wilson family plus a Classic Auctions LOA.
