Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
Hall of Fame centers Marcel Dionne and Doug Gilmour are featured in this lot of four game-used sticks that also includes twigs handled by Markus Naslund and Bryan Berard. The No. 2 pick in the 1971 NHL Draft, Dionne had 731 goals and 1040 assists for 1,771 points with Detroit, L.A., and the N.Y. Rangers. Marcel placed a big bold black marker autograph with the “HOF 92” annotation on the heel and bottom of the shaft of his Koho Pro Hook International game-used stick with his thick white tape job on the knob. Part of his tape job is missing towards the heel of the blade. “A notre petit frère” can be made out in the faded and faint marker notation on the front of the shaft of this gamer with black marks on the blade among its solid game use. “Gilmour” is stamped on the shaft of Dougie’s Titan ASD game-used stick with Killer’s thick white tape job on the knob. Gilmour signed in silver paint pen on the now bare blade that had its tape job removed for his autograph. There is a wrap of cellophane tape low on the shaft that appears to cover a chip. Plenty of game use here with nicks to the top edge of the blade. The bottom portion of the white “Naslund” stamp high on the shaft of Markus’ Bauer Supreme game-used stick shows just below his very well-worn gauze tape wrap on the knob, which was custom-shaved. The longtime Vancouver Canucks captain’s gamer displays loads of game wear with marks on the blade and on his white tape job at the toe. Berard, the No. 1 pick in the 1996 NHL Draft, signed in black marker above the heel of his Koho game-used stick in white and blue Maple Leafs colors. “34” is written in black marker on the front of Berard’s ribbed white tape job on the knob and Bryan’s black tape job remains on the blade. There are a couple of wraps of cellophane tape low on the shaft of the American defenseman’s gamer.
