Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
Harry Watson and fellow deceased HOFers Ted Kennedy and Max Bentley are among the 16 members of the 1951-52 Maple Leafs who have signed Watson’s team-signed game-used stick. Watson’s original tape jobs remain on the blade and one the knob, with a “4” handwritten on the shaft just below it. Fern Flaman makes it four HOFers who have signed among the mostly pencil autographs. Ballpoint signatures from Lewicki and McCormack are more recent. Nice game wear on this solid and crack-free beauty includes black marks low on the shaft.
Others who have signed include Smith, Klukay, Mackell, Gardner, Juzda, Bolton, Rollins and Sollinger, who joined the Leafs in 1951-52. There are a total of 17 autographs because Bolton signed twice, including one in blue ink high on the shaft. “Love & Bennett” and “Brown's Sports” stamps remain on the shaft.
