Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
From Wayne's fourth NHL season in 1982-83, where he had already cemented himself as the game's greatest player, we have his game-used Titan stick. Proper model TPM 2020, the important attributes for a genuine Gretzky gamer are here including name stamp on the upper shaft, and "99" in black marker just below. A Wayne Gretzky signature applied to the lower shaft near the blade with a notation stating "Good Luck", is the icing on the cake for this all-important Gretzky game-used stick. Comes with Shawn Chaulk’s signed LOA.
Condition on this game-used Gretzky stick is beautiful, with all original tape on both the blade, and Wayne's familiar white over black bulldog tape on the knob and top of the shaft. A date stamp appears on the stick's underside stating "NOV 25 1982". The tape on the blade has some separation where it starts at the shaft, and a strand near the end of the blade has come loose. The lower shaft also has a few areas of blue paint transfer along the edges. A highly desirable game-used example from The Great One.
