Drafted No. 1 overall by Florida in 2014, Aaron Ekblad stepped right into the Panthers’ lineup last fall as an 18-year-old. The 6-foot-4, 216-pound defenseman finished with 12 goals and 39 points and was one of three finalists nominated for the Calder Trophy. Ekblad’s photo-matched 2014-15 Panthers game-worn jersey from the team’s second season set has “2” handwritten in black marker on the fight strap and a size 58 flag tag in the back of the neck. It is matched to a Getty Images photo from February 3, 2015 by two unrepaired holes on the lower left sleeve, which were subsequently repaired by the team. Solid game wear includes board burns and a fabric patch repair on the lower right sleeve. Comes with a Panthers LOA and a Classic Auctions LOA.
More game wear shows in black marks on the right cuff, board burns on the rear tail and on the left hip, a few marks on the front, a small cut hole on the back below the No. 5. Getty Images photo from February 3, 2015 is 462725224. This set 2 of Florida Panthers game-worn jerseys was worn for road games 25 to 41 in the second half of the season. Some of the jerseys may have been interchanged with spares between periods due to excessive sweat, blood, or injury.
