Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
A perennial crowd favorite wherever he played and with good reason, Robitaille retired as the highest-scoring left winger in NHL history. Offered here is Luc Robitaille's 1994-95 Pittsburgh Penguins regular season game-worn jersey. Tremendous wear is apparent in the form of multiple stick and puck marks, especially on the lower right side of the front of the jersey, and a positive photo-match is made to the black marks appearing to the right of the team crest. There is also a few small areas of paint transfer that's worth mentioning, and some light pilling on the interior. CCM and size 54 tagging is in place on the collar, and a black marker "20" has been added to the CCM tag by head equipment manager Steve Latin. This particular feature can be found on all Latin Penguin jerseys from this era. This was executed so that the custom jersey creators knew what numbers to sew onto the jersey. A MeiGray Group COA with hologram and registration number accompanies this beautiful Robitaille garment, as well as a photo showing the perfect matches.
