Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
The one and only Maurice “Rocket” Richard signed each of the three items offered here, including the cover of a 1972 Canadiens Stanley Cup Playoffs program, a vintage promo Albert Oils card, and a framed 8x10 of himself with his arms wrapped around the Stanley Cup. The Rocket placed a dedicated blue ballpoint autograph on the cover photo of Ken Dryden on the program with a $1 face value. There are five ballpoint autographs on a Corby London Dry Gin ad on page 12, including HOFers Gilbert Perreault and Punch Imlach, and Montreal Expos manager Gene Mauch and general manager John McHale. The program exhibits plenty of handling, with tape repairs to the covers and inside, but is complete. Richard placed a bold black marker autograph on a vintage 7” x 6” Albert Oils promo card that features a dual image of himself in his Canadiens No. 9 captain’s uniform and a young hockey player. The card was removed from a scrapbook as evidenced by the adhesive residue lines across the printing on the back. A gorgeous and bold blue marker autograph sits at the bottom of the 8x10 photo mounted in a 15 1/4" x 13 1/2" black frame with a “Maurice Richard” plaque at the bottom of the matte.
